The drawing of lots ceremony for the FIDE Candidates Tournament 2024 took place on 28th of February in Toronto’s Madison Pub, determining the pairings for the event. The starting numbers were held in secret for a few days, and got revealed yesterday.

The event should take place in Toronto, Canada, but due to the vissa issues impacting more than 10 players, the event might be moved to Spain.

The tournament is an eight-player, double round-robin tournament, with 14 rounds where each player is facing the others twice: once with the black pieces and once with the white pieces.
