The historic Cercle dโรchecs de Monte-Carlo is set to host a fascinating battle of eras from April 12 to 17, 2026. The “Clash of Generations III” will see former World Champion GM Veselin Topalov take on the worldโs top-ranked U18 player, 14-year-old Turkish sensation GM Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus.
The match features one of the most significant age gaps in high-level competitive chess. Topalov, 51, who held the FIDE World title from 2005 to 2006, represents the legendary generation of classical dominance.
