The Norwegian Women’s Chess Championship 2024 took place from 9-11 February in Akrehamn, a small town in Karmรธy municipality in Rogaland county, Norway.
The event was played in 5 rounds, swiss system, simultaneously with Girls’ Youth National Championship. WIM Sheila Barth Stanford won the event scoring unbeaten 4/5 points. She was half a point ahead of the runner-ups who tied for second place with the score of 3.5 points. WIM Silje Bjerke had better tiebreaks to clinch silver, and Livia Lindstad won bronze medal.
Maya Wu emerged as the sole Winner of the Open Class tournament with 4.5/5 points, Henny Sivertsen won the Hobby event with 4/5 points, Urte Karaliute won the Cadet championship and Susanne Wiggen Larsson triumphed in Junior category, Githiha Sathish and Alina Shehzad went perfect in Lilleputt group, Ha Tran Dieu Le scored 6/6 to be first in Miniputt group, and Thea Alexandra Homtako won the Mikroputt championship.
