The Grenke Chess Festival returns this year after five years with spectacular events: Grenke Chess Classic and Grenke Chess Open!
The festival kicks off with the Grenke Chess Classic gathering six world top players who will compete in a double round-robin system. Five-time World Chess Champion GM Magnus Carlsen headlines the field which includes GM Ding Liren, GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, GM Richard Rapport, GM Vincent Keymer and GM Daniel Fridman. The event will be played from 26 March – 1 April with two 45-minute games per day.
Simultaneously, the Grenke Chess Open 2024 takes place from 28 March – 1 April with more than 2700 players! Detailed information about the Open tournament and registered players can be found here.
