Unlike most other nations, Scotland’s national chess federation receives no government funding at all. By contrast, the English Chess Federation recently received £500,000 from government. Chess Scotland is collecting donations through GoFundMe page to fund the travel.
The 45th World Chess Olympiad is set to take place from 10-22nd September in Budapest, Hungary.
