Unlike most other nations, Scotland’s national chess federation receives no government funding at all. By contrast, the English Chess Federation recently received ยฃ500,000 from government. Chess Scotland is collecting donations through GoFundMe page to fund the travel.
The 45th World Chess Olympiad is set to take place from 10-22nd September in Budapest, Hungary.
