Isle of Wight Chess Congress 2024

The inaugural edition of the Isle of Wight Chess Congress will take place from 19-21 April 2024 at a historical Ryde Castle Hotel, Isle of Wight, England. The Congress consists of three tournaments: Open (for players ECF/FIDE rated 1800+), Championship (for players ECF rated U1900), and Challenger (for players ECF rated U1400).

The events will be played in 5 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes + 30-second increment for each move. The events have limited entries capacity, and the venue can host up to 72 players. 20 spots are reserved for the Open tournament which already has 12 entries, including GM Keith Arkell, FM Neil Dickenson, and FM Jonathan Pein.
