The Houston Open Chess Championships 2024 will take place from 8-10th November at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Houston, Texas, USA.
The event has six sections: Open, Under 2000, Under 1800, Under 1600, Under 1300 and Under 1100. The top two sections are FIDE rated.
The tournament format is 5-round Swiss with the time control G/90, i30 in top two sections and G/120, d5 in the lower sections. (2-day option, G/60, d5).
The event has a $11,750 guaranteed prize fund.

Under 2000 Section: $800+plaque-$400-$200-$125-$100
Under 1800 Section: $800+plaque-$400-$200-$125-$100

Under 1300 Section: $600+plaque-$300-$200-$100
