GM Michael Adams wins Cambridge Chess Open 2024

The 2nd edition of the Cambridge Chess Open took place from 19-24 February in Cambridge, England. The event gathered nearly 120 entries coming from 22 countries and was played in 9 rounds, swiss system, with a total prize fund of £4.425.

As many as three players finished the event scoring 7/9 points to tie for the top and the tiebreak criteria determined the Winner. GM Michael Adams (England, 2673) scored a victory in the last round to leap on the top and had the best tiebreaks to clinch the tournament. GM Sergei Tiviakov (Netherlands, 2534) came second and IM Martin Haubro (Denmark, 2421) finished the event in third place. Replay all games here / Final rankings can be found below

Eight-year-old Bodhana Sivanandan once again stunned the spectators and scored 5.5/9 points in the event. She earned 94.8 rating points and might become one of the highest-rated 8-year-olds of all time!
