The European Chess Union is proud to announce the signing of the most significant sponsorship agreements in the organisation’s 41-year history.
Two landmark agreements covering the European Chess Super League and ECU Development Project are signed simultaneously, delivering on commitments made to the chess community
ECU has entered into a €800,000 partnership with Super Foundation, headquartered in Bucharest, Romania. Super Foundation is a prominent supporter of international chess, known for its involvement in prestigious events including the Grand Chess Tour, and brings both financial commitment and a deep appreciation for the development of our sport.
This agreement marks a transformative moment for the ECU and for European chess as a whole. It will strengthen our capacity to deliver high-quality championships, expand our educational programmes, and deepen our engagement with all 54 member federations and the millions of players and chess enthusiasts we collectively represent across the continent.
