American Grandmaster Hans Niemann convincingly defeated Etienne Bacrot in the third and final match of the โHans Niemann against the World Seriesโ that took place from 20-24th August at the Blitz Society Bar in Paris, France.
The match consisted of: 6 classical games over 3 days (double rounds), 6 rapid games over 1 day, and 12 blitz games over 1 day. Games are weighted as 3/2/1 points, depending on the format.
Niemann started by winning all three white Classical games of the match. The remaining three games were drawn and the Classical score was 4.5-1.5 in Niemannโs favor.
Summing up all gains from the Classical games of his Matches, Niemann has earned 22 elo points and is now 19th player in the world’s Live rating list.
In the Rapid segment, Bacrot played very well and held the ground for a 3-3 tie. Finally, in the Blitz segment, the American dominated, winning by a large margin 9-3.
