The 29th Annual Pacific Coast Open will be held from 19-21st July at the Hilton Orange County Airport Hotel, Irvine, near Los Angeles, USA.
The event has 7 sections: Premier (for players rated over 2000), Under 2100, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500, Under 1300 and Under 1000. The top two sections are FIDE rated. All sections have either 3-day (July 19-21) or 2-day (July 20-21) schedules to play in.
The tournament format is 6-round Swiss with the time control 40/80, SD/30, d30 (2-day option, rds 1-3 G/35, d10).
The event has a $30,000 guaranteed prize fund.
Premier Section: $3000-1500-1000-700, clear or tiebreak win $100 bonus, top USCF U2300 $1400-700.
Under 2100 Section: $2000-1000-600-400.
Under 1900 Section: $2000-1000-600-400.
Under 1700 Section: $1600-800-500-300.
Under 1500 Section: $1600-800-500-300.
Under 1300 Section: $1600-800-500-300.
Under 1000 Section: $1000-500-300-200.
