Magnus Carlsen to play chess for St. Pauli

Football club St. Pauli from Hamburg, Germany has achieved double success this season, having been promoted to the top-tier football and chess Bundesliga.

A cherry on the top is the arrival of world’s best chess player Magnus Carlsen who will play for the club in the next Bundesliga.

The WEISSENHAUS Chess Academy, founded by entrepreneur and patron Jan Henric Buettner, and the FC St. Pauli chess division are entering into a long-term partnership.

This includes sponsorship by WEISSENHAUS, coupled with a presentation of the WEISSENHAUS Chess Academy brand and content in the FC St. Pauli chess divisionโ€™s media channels, as well as other forms of cooperation.

In this context, Magnus Carlsen will play for FC St. Pauli in the upcoming Bundesliga season.
