Alphaeus Wei Ern Ang triumphs at the 45th Trusts Chess Open

FM Alphaeus Wei Ern Ang emerged as the sole Winner of the 45th edition of the Trusts Chess Open which was held from 3rd to 5th June at the Te Pai Centre in Auckland, New Zealand.

FM Alphaeus Wei Ern Ang scored 5.5 points, to be half a point ahead of FM Robert Smith who came second. FM Ben Hague and Phili Park-Tamati scored 4.5 points, each, to tie for third place. >>> Replay all games here

The event was organized by the Witakere Chess Club and supported by the Trusts Community Foundation and the West Auckland Trusts. The system of play was 6 rounds, swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes for the entire game plus a 30-second increment starting on move one. Draws were not allowed before move 30.
