The 71st Panhellenic Individual Chess Championship will be held from 3rd – 11th December 2022 in the capital of Greece, Athens. The 44th Panhellenic Women’s Individual Championship will be simultaneously held in the same venue.
The 2022 Panhellenic Individual Chess Championship is a 10-player round-robin tournament, with time control of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, with 30 more minutes for the rest of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting on move one.
IM Dimitris Alexakis, IM Konstantinos Moutousis and GM Spyridon Skembris are the top seeds of the event with the notable absence of any of the Greek National Team representatives. The Winner of the event will become the National Chess Champion of Greece.
