The Saint Louis Chess Club hosted a 5-round Swiss tournament named Edward Jones Classic 2026 from June 5–7, 2026. The event featured a $5,000 unconditionally guaranteed prize fund and was played under a G/90; +30 sec time control.
The Premiere (Open) section ended in a tie for first place between International Master Denes Boros (2463) and Grandmaster Tatev Abrahamyan (2430). Both players finished undefeated with a score of 4.0/5 points, splitting the top two cash prizes to take home $850.00 each.
Boros opened the tournament with victories against Oliver Rana and Sho Glashausser, followed by a half-point bye in round three, a win over Nicholas Ladan in round four, and a final-round draw against Abrahamyan. Abrahamyan took a half-point bye in the first round, followed by three consecutive wins against Finn Pagliarini, Henry Sondag, and Tianqi Wang, before drawing her final game with Boros.
Tianqi Wang (2444) and Leo Le-Tran (2071) shared third place, finishing with 3.5/5 points and earning $487.50 each. After a second-round loss to Sondag, Le-Tran secured his score by defeating Sean Gao, Oliver Ohly, and Nicholas Ladan.
To participate in the event, players were required to hold active memberships in both the United States Chess Federation (USCF) and the Saint Louis Chess Club.
