Popular League of Legends streamer Tyler Steinkamp, better known as Tyler1 or T1, who picked up chess in July 2023 has just broken 1900 rapid rating on Chess.com.
Tyler1 learned how to play chess 10 months ago, and was around only 200 elo in August last year when he competed in the amateur chess tournament PogChamps.
After PogChamps, he continued to play chess a lot, for a total of 5900 rapid games, to finally break the 1900 elo barrier in May 2024.
At 29 years of age Tyler1 is an adult improver and his progress shows that much can be achieved in chess with devotion and persistence.
