The Western Canadian Open 2024 will take place over the Thanksgiving long weekend from 12-14th October at CapU Lonsdale of The Shipyards in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
The event is organized by the Capilano University, Juniors to Masters Chess Academy, and Vancity Chess, in collaboration.
The event consists of three sections: Premier, U1600 and U1000. CFC Rated (all sections) and FIDE Rated (Premier section only).
All sections will be completed over 6 rounds with the classical time control G90+30”.
Player limit has been reached with 80 registrations. The prize fund is $3500.
Round 1 at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday
