Ukrainian players asking FIDE to remove Kyrgyz Federation proposal from the Assembly Agenda

Ukrainian chess players sent a Letter to International Chess Federation FIDE, urging to remove the Kyrgyz Chess Federation proposal from the General Assembly Agenda. The Kyrgyz Chess Federation proposed to remove the restrictions on both the Russian and Belarusian Chess Federations, asking for secret voting on the matter.

The Norwegian Chess Federation announced to reject the Kyrgyz Federation proposal, while the Lithuanian Chess Federation condemned the decision of the FIDE Ethics Commission to cancel the suspension of the membership of the Russian Chess Federation.

Ukrainian players now sent a letter to FIDE, expressing their concerns about the upcoming voting. The letter was signed by GM Oleksandr Beljavskyi, GM Mykhaylo Brodskiy, GM Vasyl Ivanchuk, GM Anton Korobov, GM Ruslan Ponomariov, GM Volodimir Onishchuk, GM Andriy Volokitin, GM Natalia Zhukova, GM Anna Ushenina, IM Inna Gaponenko, IM Natalia Buksa, IM Yuliia Osmak and WGM Evgeniya Doluhanova, and states:

Advocate Against the Discussion: Please press your national federations to ensure that this topic is not even placed on the agenda for discussion.
Stand in Solidarity: Show your support for the Ukrainian chess community and those affected by the conflict.
Promote Peace: Let us collectively uphold the values of peace, integrity, and respect within our chess community
