The UK vs Ukraine solidarity match is taking place from 21-30 March in London, England. An eight-game challenge match is played between English no. 1 GM Michael Adams and 2-time Ukrainian Chess Champion GM Andrei Volokitin. The match will include a day in the UK Parliament, while other rounds will be organised at the Ukrainian Embassy in London (TBC) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The match is played with time control of: 100 minutes for 40 moves, then 50 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1, and the prize fund is $45,000.
