The FIDE Candidates Tournament 2024 and the FIDE Women’s Candidates Tournament 2024 kicked off yesterday in Toronto’s Great Hall!
All four games in the Men tournament finished in a draw, and only one game went decisive in the Women’s section. Therefore, GM Tan Zhongyi (China, 2521) emerged as the early leader after defeating GM Lei Tingjie (China, 2550). Round 1 results are shown below.
