The 2024 O2C Doeberl Cup is scheduled to take place from 28th March to 1st April at the Canberra Southern Cross Club Woden, 92-96 Corinna Street, Woden ACT 2606. O2C Doeberl Cup is Australia’s Premier Grand Prix Chess Tournament since 1963.
The event consists of eight sections: Premier, Major, Minor, Mini, U1200s, Lightning and Lightning U1600. The total prize fund is increased to $AUD 26,300.
2024 Premier Tournament is a 9-rounds Swiss tournament with the time control 90min+30sec.
This section is a FIDE and ACF rated tournament. Open to all players with an ACF or FIDE Rating 1900 and above.
Top prizes are $5,000/$3,000/$1,500/$1,000/$750 etc.
Last year winner was GM Hrant Melkumyan (ARM) who top-seeds the field this year.

2024 Major Tournament is a 7-rounds Swiss tournament with the time control 90min+30sec.
The Major is a FIDE and ACF rated tournament. Open to players with an ACF Rating below 2100 and either an ACF or FIDE rating above 1600.
The top prize is $1,600.
2024 Minor Tournament is a 7-rounds Swiss tournament with the time control 90min+30sec.
The Minor is a FIDE and ACF rated tournament. Open to players with an ACF Rating below 1800 and either an ACF or FIDE rating above 1300.
The top prize is $1,000.
2024 Mini Tournament is a 7-rounds Swiss tournament with the time control 90min+30sec.
The Mini is a FIDE and ACF rated tournament. Open to players with an ACF Rating below 1500, including unrated players.
2024 U1200s Tournament is a 6-rounds Swiss tournament with the time control 60min+10sec. It takes place on 29-30th March.
The Under 1200’s is an ACF rated tournament. Open to players with an ACF rating below 1200 points, including unrated players.
2024 Lightning is a 9-rounds Swiss tournament with the time control 3min+2sec. It will take place on 30th March.
The Lightning is an ACF and FIDE rated event. No rating requirements.
2024 Lightning Under 1600 (ACF) is a 7-rounds Swiss tournament with the time control 3min+2sec. It will take place on 30th March after the award ceremony for the Under 1200s event.
The Lightning Under 1600s (ACF) is an ACF and FIDE rated event.
