IM Alexander Ross Katz triumphs at Liberty Bell Chess Open 2024

The 56th edition of the annual Liberty Bell Chess Open concluded yesterday in Sonesta Hotel, Philadelphia. The event was played from 12-15 January with over 450 entries who competed in 6 sections: Major, U2100, U1900, U1700, U1500, and U1200.

As many as five players tied for the top of the Major section, but IM Alexander Ross Katz won the event with the best tiebreaks. GM Fidel Corrales Jimenez came second, GM Harshit Raja finished third, GM Mackenzie S Molner was fourth, and Qual Tran finished the even in the fifth place.
