The Saint Louis Chess Club announced today that GM Humpy Koneru decided to withdraw from the Cairns Chess Cup 2023 which is currently ongoing in Saint Louis. “GM Humpy Koneru has been dealing with medical issues (not Covid related) for the past few days. For her own health she has requested to withdraw from the competition”, reads the official statement.
Humpy Koneru’s results will be removed from the tournament standings, but the games will be FIDE rated. The players who already played with Koneru will get 0 points from those games regardless of the result. >>>Replay all games here
