The 2022 Women’s World Open Rapid Chess Championship will be held from 26-28th December at the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Championship format is 11-round Swiss with the time control 15 minutes + 10 seconds. The top-seeded player in the event is reigning champion Alexandra Kosteniuk who showed good shape at the recently concluded European Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship 2022 where she won gold in Blitz and silver in the Rapid event.
