The 55th edition of the Women’s Grandmasters Tournament in Belgrade took place from 2-10 March as a 10-player round-robin event.
IM Aleksandra Maltsevskaya (Poland, 2374) triumphed in the championship scoring unbeaten 7.5 points. Maltsevskaya emerged in the leading position after five played rounds with a perfect score, and successfully maintained the leading position until the end. With a victory in the last round against WIM Sandra Djukic (Serbia, 2127), Aleksandra Maltsevskaya secured the sole first position.
WFM Elif Mehmed (Serbia, 2194) and WGM Lu Miaoyi (China, 2397) scored 7 points each to share 2-3 place. 20-year-old Elif Mehmed had an amazing performance to earn her final WGM norm, and thanks to better tiebreaks finished second. The top-seeded Lu Miaoyi came third.
