India emerged as the winner of the Open section at the 45th Chess Olympiad with a round to spare!
Defeating USA in the 10th round today, India secured gold. The first game to finish today was played between Praggnanandhaa and Wesley So. Wesley So won, but Gukesh and Arjun Erigaisi scored for India, once again showing brilliant play. Vidit Santosh Gujrathi drew against Levon Aronian and the match finished with the result of 2.5-1.5 in favor of the Indian team.
Gukesh D and Arjun Erigaisi were the leaders of Indian team. Playing on the top board, Gukesh scored impressive 8/9 points, while Erigaisi scores 9/10 points.
