The complete schedule and locations of the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix 2024/2025 has been published!
Following consultations with women chess players, FIDE introduced several format changes in the 2024โ25 Grand Prix series. The 2024-2025 season includes six tournaments (comparing to previous four events), with each of 20 elite female players participating in three tournaments.ย
The overall prize fund for the Women’s Grand Prix Series is increased to 120,000 Euros. The winner of the Grand Prix series willย receive 30,000 Euros (up from 20,000 Euros), and the runner-up will be awarded 22,000 Euros (compared to the previous 16,000 Euros).ย
The first leg of the 2024-2025 season held in Tbilisi, Georgia, saw the triumph of Alina Kashlinkaya. Shymkent, Kazakhstan will host the second tournament of the series from October 29 to November 9, 2024, and complete schedule of events and participants of each event can be seen below.
