The International Chess Federation FIDE announced Google to be the Title Sponsor of the World Chess Championship 2024 which will be held in Singapore from 23 November to 15 December. The landmark collaboration marks the first time the World Chess Championship to be sponsored by a global technology leader.
Google Chief Marketing Officer for Asia Pacific Simon Kahn said: “Google is excited to sponsor this historic event. In fact, some of our earliest AI breakthroughs came from mastering chess as a proof-of-concept.
