Alireza Firouzja claimed the 2024 Sinquefield Cup, adding another trophy to his collection after securing the overall Grand Chess Tour victory yesterday.
Heading into the final round, Firouzja held a full-point lead over his closest competitor, Fabiano Caruana. A draw against Praggnanandhaa was enough to secure first place, despite Caruana’s victory over Giri.
