The 3rd Rio Chess Open 2024 is scheduled to take place from 22-28th April at the South American Copacabana Hotel – Rua Francsico Sá 90 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The event will be a 9-round Swiss with the prize fund of 3000 USD.
Currently there are 114 players registered to take part in the tournament. Top rated are: GM Supi Luis Paulo BRA 2581, GM Fier Alexandr BRA 2566, GM Hoffman Alejandro URU 2379, FM Do Valle Cardoso Lucas BRA 2375, GM Lima Darcy BRA 2369, NM Piccoli Lucas Fonseca BRA 2274 etc.
The tournament director is IA Rosas Ednilson Monteiro and chief arbiter is IA Einhorn Marcelo.
