The German Women’s International Open Chess Championship 2024 concluded yesterday in Augsburg, Germany. The event took place from 6-10 March, with A and B tournaments, and the participation of 45 players.
After nine played rounds in the group A, IM Klaudia Kulon (Poland, 2335) and IM Nataliya Buksa (Ukraine, 2388) scored 7 points each to tie for the first place. The two players headed into the last round co-leading the event, and maintained the share for the top with important victories in the final round. Having better tiebreaks, Klaudia Kulon emerged as the Winner of the event, and IM Nataliya Buksa finished second.
IM Deimante Daulyte-Cornette (France, 2375) and WGM Carmen Voicu-Jagodzinsky (Romania, 2202) shared 3-4 place with the score of 6 points. Deimante Daulyte-Cornette had better additional criteria and clinched third place, while WGM Carmen Voicu-Jagodzinsky stood fourth in the final rankings.
