The 24 Hours Blitz of the Francophonie 2024 will take place from Tuesday, March 19 at 18:00 CET until Wednesday, March 20 at 18:00 CET on the lichess.org platform.
The games will be played in blitz time control of 3 min + 2 sec.
International Francophonie Day is celebrated on March 20 to mark the anniversary of the Cultural and Technical Cooperation Agency (ACCT), founded on March 20, 1970 in Niamey, Niger. This agency marks the first step towards French-speaking cooperation which will later evolve into the International Organization of the Francophonie with 77 countries.
Celebrating the Francophonie means recognizing the potential of language and culture to unite people, to create spaces of solidarity and mutual understanding, to think together about our common future.
The Francophonie Chess Association AIDEF will participate in the celebration of March 20 by organizing the fourth edition of the “24 Hours of Blitz of La Francophonie” marathon.
