The Austin Chess Club Winter Open 2024 will take place from 26-28 January at the Austin Southpark Hotel, Texas. The event will be played in 4 rating sections: Championship (1800+), Reserve (1400-1799), Novice (900-1399) and Club (U900) with guaranteed prize fund of $5,000.
The events will be played in 5 rounds, with swiss accelerated system of pairings in sections with more than 40 participants. The time control of the Championship tournament is 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment for each move, and already 60 players registered for the event. The top seeds are: GM Kamil Dragun, GM Vladimir Belous, and Rohit Gundam.
