The 16th edition of the Cleveland Chess Open 2023 will be held over the weekend 9-11 June, 2023 at the Crowne Plaza Cleveland Airport Hotel, Ohio. The event will be played in 5 rounds, swiss system, with 5 rating categories: Major (for players rated 1900+), U2100, U1800, U1500, and U1200.
The guaranteed total prize fund is $15.000, with the following distribution among the categories:
- Major Section: Open to 1900/above. Prizes $2000-1000-600-400, clear or tiebreak winner $100 bonus, top USCF Under 2300 $600-300. FIDE rated.
- Under 2100 Section: $1000-500-300-200, top Under 1900.Unr $400-200 FIDE rated.
- Under 1800 Section: $1000-500-300-200, top U1600 (no Unr) $400-200.
- Under 1500 Section: $800-450-300-200, top Under 1300 (no Unr) $300-150.
- Under 1200 Section: $600-400-200-100, top Under 1000 (no Unr) $200-100..
- Unrated prize limits: U1200 $100, U1500 $200, U1800 $400. Balance goes to next player(s) in line.
