The 85th edition of the Tata Steel Chess Tournament is being held from 13 to 29 January 2023 in Wijk aan Zee, Netherlands. With the reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen and a World Championship challenger Ding Liren, five top 10 players, and a total of eight top 20 players, the Masters of the jubilee edition of the Tata Steel Chess Tournament has a very strong field of participants.
The event is played in 13 rounds, round-robin system. The time control is 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for 20 moves, then 15 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move, starting from move 1.
