Chess Scotland has completed the selection process for the upcoming Chess Olympiad 2026 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

While the UK government recently pledged ยฃ1 million to chess, Chess Scotland was completely excluded from the allocation. To bridge the gap, the federation is now turning to a GoFundMe page to fund their players’ travel expenses.
The 46th World Chess Olympiad is set to take place from 15-28th September in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
