The Swiss Young Masters 2026 has come to a thrilling conclusion at the Hotel Post Glarnerhof. After nine rounds of intense competition among some of Europeโ€™s most promising talents, the final standings confirm a tournament of exceptionally high quality and fighting spirit.

Dutch sensation IM Eline Roebers lived up to her billing as the pre-tournament favorite. The reigning European Women’s Blitz Chess Champion showcased the elite skill and speed that earned her the title earlier this year. Finishing with 6.5 points, Roebers took first place on tiebreaks after a neck-and-neck race, capping off another stellar performance in her rising career.

The competition for the podium remained fierce until the final moves:

  • IM Simon Lamaze (FRA): Also finishing on 6.5 points, Lamaze secured a strong second place, demonstrating remarkable consistency throughout the event.
  • FM Matthias Mattenberger (SUI): Leading the Swiss contingent, Mattenberger delivered an impressive performance to take third place with 5.5 points, edging out IM Richard Stalmach (CZE) on tiebreaks.

The tournament served as a vital proving ground for title norms. WIM Mariia Manko finished with a solid 5 points, while the younger Swiss players, Dorian Asllani, Moritz Valentin Collin, and Or Shatil, gained invaluable experience against international titled masters. Cristian Marc Arsenie also put up a brave fight, finishing with 3.5 points.
