FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich addressed the press release published by FCPC emphasizing that the press release includes “significant inaccuracies that misrepresent the situation“. Dvorkovich’s statement, published on FIDE’s X/Twitter account, further explains that FIDE President’s quote was presented accurately, and that the decisions were made based on direct communication with the players. “FIDE remains committed to maintaining transparecy and fairness, and we will issue a statement on this matter next week“, concludes Dvorkovich in his statement.
