The Serbian Chess Championships 2023 (Open and Women’s) are taking place from 6-14 June in the city of Senta. Both Open and Women’s tournaments are 10-player round-robin events, with the time control of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, plus 30 minutes till the end of the game, with increment of 30 seconds for each move, starting from move one.
The prize fund of the Open championship amounts to 6.500 euros, with 1.750 euros reserved for the 2023 Serbian Champion. The total prize fund of the Women’s tournament is 2.950 euros, with 850 euros reserved for the Winner.
The top-seeded players of the Open championship are GM Aleksandar Indjic, GM Velimir Ivic, and GM Robert Markus, while WIM Marina Gajcin, WGM Jovana Eric and WGM Irina Chelushkina top the field of the Women’s competition.
