The Semifinals of the Serbian Chess Championship 2024 will take place from 5-11 February in Paracin, Serbia, as the qualifications event for the Serbian Chess Championships 2024. The event is played in two categories: Open and Women’s, with nine and eight rounds (respectively).
The Open event will be played as a 9-round swiss tournament, with the participation of 43 players including former representatives GM Ivan Ivanisevic (2520), GM Nikola Sedlak (2461), Serbian National team coach IM Miodrag Perunovic (2373), top Serbian female player IM Teodora Injac (2439).
The Women’s tournament gathers 9 players who will compete in 8 rounds (round robin), and 13-year-old WFM Vera Vujovic (2123) headlines the field. The complete starting lists of players can be found below.
The event features the prize fund of 6.000 euros, with 4.300 euros in prizes for the Open tournament, and 1.700 euros for the Women’s event.
