The 25th Annual Pittsburgh Open will take place from 26-28th July at the Doubletree Green Tree in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
The event has five sections: Major (for players rated over 1900), Under 2100, Under 1800, Under 1500 and Under 1200. The top two sections are FIDE rated.
The tournament format is 5-round Swiss with the time control 40/80, SD/30, d30 (2-day option, rounds 1-2 G/60 d10).
The event has a $13,000 guaranteed prize fund.
Major: $1300-700-400-300, clear/tiebreak winner $100 bonus, top USCF U2300 $500-250.
Under 2100: $1000-500-300-200, top under 1900/Unr $400-200.
Under 1800: $900-500-300-200, top under 1600 (no unr) $350-180.
Under 1500: $800-400-300-200, top under 1300 (no unr) $300-150.
Under 1200: $500-300-200-100, top under 1000 (no unr) $180-90.
Top rated player is the World Open winner Grandmaster Awonder Liang (USA 2648).
