Peter Svidler triumphs at the 2023 Tepe Sigeman Chess Tournament

The 28th edition of the Tepe Sigeman Chess Tournament took place from May 4-10 at the Elite Plaza Hotel in central Malmo, Sweden. It was an 8-player round-robin tournament with the mixture of experienced grandmasters and youngsters in the field.

Experience prevailed at this edition of the Tepe Sigeman as 46-year-old GM Peter Svidler emerged as the Winner of the event with the score of 4.5/7 points. Sweden’s top player and Tepe Sigeman winner in 2013, 2017 and 2018 GM Nils Grandelius tied with GM Gukesh D and GM Abhimanyu Mishra for the second place scoring 4 points.
