The Prague Chess Masters 2024 will officially conclude today but the Winner of the Masters tournament is already known!
Nodirbek Abdusattorov (Uzbekistan, 2744) won the Prague Chess Masters 2024 with a round to spare, scoring impressive 6/8 points. 19-year-old Abdusattorov suffered a single loss in the tournament, playing against 18-year-old Praggnannadhaa (India, 2747) in the sixth round. Two consecutive victories against Vincent Keymer (Germany, 2738) and Parham Maghsoodloo (Iran, 2715) were enough for the Uzbekistani to secure the Winners’ trophy.
With the performance of 2899, Nodirbek Abdusattorov earned 15.6 rating points and climbed to the 4th position on the live rating list, behind Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, and Hikaru Nakamura. Abdusattorov is now the highest-rated junior in the world, ahead of Praggnanandhaa and Gukesh D.
Scoring 4.5 points each, Nguyen Thai Dai Van (Czech Republic, 2630), Parham Maghsoodloo (Iran, 2715) and Praggnanandhaa (India, 2747) tie for the second place.
