The CEO and founder of the WR Group Mr. Wadim Rosenstein announced the composition of the WR Chess team for the upcoming FIDE World Rapid Team Chess Championship 2024.
Almost all of the players stayed in the team, but it will still be a major change as the five-time World Champion Magnus Carlsen joins them! Carlsen will replace GM Wesley So who is not able to participate in the tournament.
Finally, the WR Chess includes: GM Magnus Carlsen, GM Ian Nepomniachtchi, GM Nodirbek Abdusattorov, GM Jan-Krzysztof Duda, GM Alexandra Kosteniuk, GM Hou Yifan, GM Praggnanandhaa, GM Vincent Keymer, Wadim Rosenstein and GM Jan Gustafsson as the trainer.
The FIDE World Rapid Team Chess Championship 2024 should take place in August this year, but the venue and exact dates haven’t been yet announced by FIDE.
