LA Galaxy’s Soccer striker Dejan Joveljic was spotted in Los Angeles facing a chess hustler over the board. 25-year-old Joveljic is known as the best chess players among the footballers, with a FIDE rating of 2217. He competed in various chess tournaments, including European Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships 2023 in Zagreb, Croatia.
Walking on the LA streets, Joveljic, accompanied by his coach IM Miodrag Perunovic aka The Butcher, met a chess hustler who offered them a bet. It was 20$ stake in the game against Dejan Joveljic, and 50$ stake in the game against IM Miodrag Perunovic.
