Statement from the Spanish Chess Federation regarding the events that occurred in the Spanish Team Championship for club teams, CECLUB, of Honor Division 2024 that is being played in Melilla.
It is hereby communicated that today the player Kirill Shevchenko, member of the Silla-Integrant Col.lectius team, has been sanctioned with the loss of his games played in the first and second rounds, as well as with his expulsion from the Championship.
The reason was the use of mobile devices during the development of his games.
From the FEDA we would like to thank the collaboration and good disposition of the Silla Chess Club, Silla โ Integrant Col.lectius team, facilitating at all times the investigation and resolution of this unpleasant matter.
We also appreciate the diligent work of the refereeing team and the Championship Appeal Committee.
The results of round 1 and round 2 have been modified, being respectively:
Round 1: SILLA-INTEGRANT COL.LECTIUS, 4 โ DUO BENIAJAN COSTA CALIDA, 2
Round 2: MYINVESTOR CASABLANCA, 4 โ SILLA-INTEGRANT COL.LECTIUS, 2
The FEDA maintains a firm commitment against cheating in Chess, acting in the most energetic way possible in any case that is detected. We deeply regret that these events have occurred.
Regardless of the resolutions that the FIDE Ethics Commission may adopt in this case of โAnti-Cheatingโ, the FEDA will adopt all disciplinary measures that correspond to the unsportsmanlike behavior of the player, respecting at all times his right of appeal and defense.
We wish to state, in any case, that this individual behaviour has nothing to do with the impeccable performance of his Club and the rest of the members of the Team.
