The 33rd Kings Island Open 2024 will take place from 15-17th November at the Embassy Suites Cincinnati Northeast, Blue Ash, Ohio.
The event has seven sections: Major (for players rated over 1900), Under 2100, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500, Under 1250 and Under 1000. The top two sections are FIDE rated.
The tournament format is 5-round Swiss with the time control 40/80, SD/30, d30 (2-day option, rounds 1-2 G/60 d10).
The event has a $25,000 guaranteed prize fund.
Major Section: $2500-1300-700-500-300, clear/tiebreak win $100 bonus, top USCF Under 2300 $1200-600. FIDE rated.
Under 2100 Section: $1600-800-400-300-200. FIDE rated.
Under 1900 Section: $1600-800-400-300-200
Under 1700 Section: $1400-700-400-300-200
Under 1500 Section: $1200-600-400-300-200
Under 1250 Section: $1000-500-400-300-200
Under 1000 Section: $800-400-250-150-100
