IM John Daniel Bryant clear winner of Central California Chess Open

The 14th Annual Central California Chess Open took place from 9-11th August at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Convention Center in Fresno, California, USA.

The event had four sections: Major (for players rated over 1900), Under 2100, Under 1700 and Under 1300. The top two sections are FIDE rated.

The tournament format was 5-round Swiss with the time control 40/80, SD/30, d30 (2-day option, rounds 1-2 G/60 d10).

The main Major Section had 33 participants. IM John Daniel Bryant took a clear first place with 4.5/5 points, winning the top $1600 prize.

Under 2100 section had 37 participants. Jonathan Dodson 1696 CA won this section with 4.5/5 points.

Results for Under 1700 section are currently not available.

Under 1300 section gathered 45 participants. Vincent Joseph Cimino 1185 CA is the convincing winner with the perfect 5.0 points score.

The event had a $10,000 guaranteed prize fund.
