The 2024 Australasian Chess Masters took place from 14th to 22nd December at the Melbourne Chess Club in Australia. The event was played as a 10-player round-robin with the prize fund of $2,200.
IM James Morris (Australia, 2425) emerged as the sole Winner of the event scoring impressive 8/9 points and claimed the top prize of $1,200. FM Alphaeus Wei Ern Ang (New Zealand, 2327) followed, trailing by a full point, and IM Jairo Andres Hernandez Sanchez (Colombia, 2339) came third with the score of 5.5 points.
